Postmortem (2017)

A posthumous portrait of the filmmaker's reclusive grandfather made using only photographs of the stuff he left behind and audio of the estate salesmen appraising it. 8 min

by Amanda Quaid

Tom hoarded everything from art supplies to ammo. After he dies, the granddaughter who barely knew him helps her uncle clean out the 'mystery garage' where he spent most of his life. She brings along her camera to document the process. When two estate salesmen arrive to do an appraisal, she records their detached observations and macabre humor. What can we tell about a life from the stuff that's left behind?
